The last time I saw The Crystal Method was in January 2004 at a small but wicked club in Brixton called Plan B. It's a friendly place and I even managed to get a chance to briefly speak to them that night about their forthcoming album Legion of Boom.

Being a fabric first member, this should have been a no brainer.. turn up, avoid the queues and flash the posh leather members card... but I seem to have mislaid it! This meant I had to call fabric on Friday and get them to send me an email to print out. and bring with me so the door staff would let me in! As always the door staff at fabric were pretty good, and it took more time to put my coat in than get through to the club!

Once in it was time to grab a drink, and pretty much stick to Room 1. I appreciate DnB but it was all about the breaks for me on this night. I've been to too many festivals and attempted to run from stage to stage trying to see every artist i like!

Ali B 

Warming up things for fabric on this night was none other than fabric resident Ali B, with his wicked mix of hip hop, bootlegs and electro goodness. Highlights included hearing a rather awesome mix of INXS as well as a few progressive tunes by Lazersonic. They sounded really good on the fabric sound system, but I felt they deserved to be played later on in the evening.

Audio Bullys Live

I have not had the chance to see the Audiobullys before, and I'm glad I finally got to see them live at fabric. Playing all their well known tunes including We Don't Care and Shot You Down. The crowd really seemed to get into it and their performance was tight. Especially seeing as they were playing along with a live drummer.

Stanton Warriors

This is the second time I've seen them this year, and as always they never fail to provide fat moody basslines thoughout their set. Highlights included the Handz Up and a tune that I am sure went "My Whistle... My Whistle... " :)

Crystal Method

This as far as I was concerned was the main event for my evening, especially seeing as they are what initially got me into the breakbeat sound. You don't really get much of a chance to hear their tracks on a big sound system let alone being played by them, and it was something I was really looking forward to.

I was not let down, their set featured both live DJing and an Ableton accompanyment. They have recently released a remastered/remixed version of their first album; Vegas and they played a few of these tunes which sounded fantastic on the Bodysonic dancefloor. 

Evil Nine

This was the end of the evening for me, and Evil Nine played a much more dirty set than I've ever heard them play before. It's a sound that I seem to associate with fabric, but not one that I personally like. Due to this I'm not actually prepared to give comment. I stayed for about 40 minutes and then decided to call it a night... a successful one at that!

The crowd was really friendly, up for it, and there was a nice mixture of people there, defo one to remember.
